LIBRARY NEWS AND NOTES
The Library Board would like to thank Sara Haas Bucher for purchasing flowers for our outside planter. Her grandmother Marjorie Haas was Florence librarian for many years. Also thank you to Scott of Zogie’s for planting them.
Story Time was well attended at the kickoff recently. The next sessions in June will be June 13th and 27th with times of 9:30 thru 10:15 for 3rd thru 6th and 10:30 to 11 for 2nd grade and under. Thank you to Jessica Inlow who is doing a fantastic job of being in charge.
The book van was here recently with a good selection of adult fiction western, romance, mystery and large adult fiction books. Also a great selection of young adult books.
We also have a 250 book shelf display. This coincides with the nation’s 250th birthday in July. The display changes every month and the month of May is Kansas notable books that is written by authors from Kansas. We also have a display of our new books that we have purchased. We are currently working on enlarging our magazine circulation.
Book club selection for the month of June is Last Light over Galveston by Jennifer Wright and July will be The Harvey Girls.
I am glad to be back as library director. Come see me and check out some books and magazines. Stay busy this summer reading books!
