Hey KIds!  Movie Matinee at the LIbrary!  Children are invited to come to the library on January 15th at 2:30 p.m. to watch a movie.  The movie to be shown is the musical event of the year and is joyful, touching, funny and a total surprise.  Snacks will be served.  Come join the fun.  There is no school  that day!


A Kansas Day celebration will be held on Sunday, January 28th at the library from 1-5 p.m.   There will b displays of Florence memorabilia, which includes pictures, advertising and collectibles, videos if you have them.  It will be a great afternoon of sharing, reminiscing of early days of Florence.  If you have items you would like to share, please contact the library at 878-4649 to make sure space is available.  Just call the library to reserve a spot!  We hope it will be a great way to celebrate not only Kansas but also Florence!


Community book club met on January 3rd, They read  End Game by David Baldachi.  The February book selection will be ” The Stranger in the Woods” by Michael Finkel.  A extraordinary story of the last true hermit.  Come join the group, We meet at 5:30 p.m. on February 7th.


Patrons are urged to come to receive information about the Universal Classes offered on-line by the Kansas Library.  Over 500 classes are offered on 30 subjects that patrons can sign up for with their e-class library card.  Classes can be taken at their own pace and schedule and in their own homes.
